Title: ACPID Insecure Umask Directory Permissions Vulnerability

Severity: LOW

Description:

ACPID is a daemon for handling ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) events. It is available for UNIX and Linux platforms.

A vulnerability exists in ACPID that may result in a directory being created with world-writable permissions. This is reportedly due to an insecure umask being set. This could expose software to attacks by local users, depending on the contents and purpose of the directory that is created by the software. The vulnerability could reportedly result in a denial of service attacks.
