Title: GFHost Cross-Site Scripting And Server-Side Script Execution Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
GFHost is an open source PHP-based Web application designed to utilize Googles GMail service as a content storage mechanism.
It is reported that GFHost is susceptible to a cross-site scripting vulnerability, and a server-side script execution vulnerability. These issues are due to a failure of the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input.
The cross-site scripting problem presents itself when malicious HTML and script code is sent to the application through the 'label' URI argument of the 'label.php' script.
This issue could permit a remote attacker to cause hostile HTML or script code to be rendered in the web browser of the victim user. This would occur in the security context of the affected web site and may allow for theft of cookie-based authentication credentials or other attacks.
The script execution problem presents itself when a PHP script is sent to the GMail account that the affected script is utilizing for its hosting storage. An attacker may cause the attached PHP script to be executed in the context of the affected Web server. This issue presents itself in the 'dl.php' script.
This vulnerability reportedly allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP script code in the context of the affected Web application.
