Title: Online-Bookmarks Authentication Bypass Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
The online-bookmarks application is a web-based bookmark tool for managing and storing bookmark files. It is implemented in PHP with an underlying SQL database and is available for UNIX and variants as well as Microsoft Windows.
The application is affected by an authentication-bypass vulnerability because it fails to properly manage unauthorized access to sensitive scripts. An attacker can directly access the 'bookmarks.php', 'footer.php', 'main.php', 'tree.php', and 'functions.php' scripts. These scripts contain functionality that would permit the attacker to view, edit and, delete other users' bookmarks.
Affected Products:
- Gentoo Linux
- online-bookmarks Web Based Bookmark Application 0.4.0
- online-bookmarks Web Based Bookmark Application 0.4.2
- online-bookmarks Web Based Bookmark Application 0.4.4
