Title: Computer Associates Unicenter Management Portal Username Disclosure Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Computer Associates Unicenter Management Portal is a Web-based enterprise management system.
A vulnerability has been reported in the Unicenter Management Portal that could allow an unauthenticated remote user to determine valid usernames on the management portal.
The "Forgot your Password?" link on the portal allows a user to enter their username so that the system can email them a password. This interface produces different messages depending on whether the submitted username is valid or not.
When an invalid username is entered into the interface, the message "User not found: [username]" is displayed where [username] is the invalid username entered. When a valid username is entered into the same interface, the message "Password has been sent" or "Email address not Found" is displayed.
This could allow a brute force enumeration of valid usernames on the management portal system.
This vulnerability was reported to affect Unicenter Management Portal 2.0 and 3.1, however, other versions may also be vulnerable.
Affected Products:
- Computer Associates Unicenter Management Portal 2.0.0
- Computer Associates Unicenter Management Portal 3.1.0
