Title: MyServer Directory Traversal Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

MyServer is an application and web server for Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.

MyServer is reported prone to a remote directory traversal vulnerability. This issue presents itself due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data. Specifically, if an attacker requests a file from an affected http server that contains directory traversal character sequences such as './' and '../', it is not correctly sanitized. This results in improper access to potentially sensitive files located outside of the document root of the web server.

MyServer version 0.7 is reportedly affected by this issue, however, other versions may be vulnerable as well.

Affected Products:

  • myServer myServer 0.7.0
