Title: Titan FTP Server CWD Command Remote Heap Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Titan FTP is an FTP server for Microsoft Windows.

Titan FTP server is reported prone to a remote heap overflow vulnerability. This issue exists due to insufficient boundary checks performed by the application and may result in arbitrary code execution.

The issue presents itself when the server processes user-supplied data passed through the 'cwd' command. It is reported that an attacker can trigger this issue by supplying an excessive string value to the application. This may overflow a finite buffer on the heap leading to memory corruption.

This issue likely results in a denial of service condition. If an attacker succeeds in overwriting sensitive process memory and redirecting process execution to malicious arbitrary code, this issue may allow the attacker to gain unauthorized access to a vulnerable computer.

All versions of Titan FTP server are considered vulnerable to this issue.
