Zoom Model 5560 X3 ETHERNET ADSL Modem is an ADSL modem, router, and gateway appliance with an Ethernet interface.
The Zoom Model 5560 X3 ETHERNET ADSL Modem is reported to contain a default backdoor account.
The account can be accessed over TCP port 254 with a password of 'DEFAULT'. This account is hard coded and cannot be removed. This account can be used to log into the device and change various settings including issuing a complete 'Factory Reset'.
A remote attacker can gain unauthorized access to the vulnerable appliance and then carry out other attacks against the users of the network.
