3Com OfficeConnect Remote 812 ADSL Router is prone to a remotely exploitable buffer overflow through the telnet port. This issue occurs when an overly long string is sent to the device via the telnet port (TCP/23). The exploit string must reportedly contain specific terminal escape sequences to trigger the issue.
Exploitation of this vulnerability will likely result in a denial of service as the device may reboot or stop servicing network traffic. It is not known if the issue may be further exploited to compromise the device.
