Title: Lynx Long URL Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Several buffer overrun conditions exist in versions of Lynx that could allow for a remote user to gain access to the machine Lynx is being run from. This condition stems from Lynx improperly handling long URL's in certain situations. For instance, long http and ftp URL's can trigger buffer overflows when Lynx is running via a proxy. Additionally, viewing the source of pages containing long URL's may also trigger overflows.
Affected Products:
- University of Kansas Lynx 2.7.0
- University of Kansas Lynx 2.8.0
- University of Kansas Lynx 2.8.3 dev2x
