Launching new Junos-based tracks — Replacing M/T series, Enterprise Switching and Enterprise Routing Tracks
What's Changing?
The Juniper Networks Certification Program is aligning the Junos-based certification credentials with the Juniper Networks portfolio of industry-based solutions. The new organization of Junos-based credentials will align to three tracks:
- The existing M/T Series Track will be phased out over the next 12 months and replaced by the new Service Provider Track.
- The existing Enterprise Switching and Enterprise Routing tracks will be phased out over the next 12 months and replaced by the new Enterprise Routing and Switching Track.
- The Security Track will be expanded to include a JNCIP and JNCIE credential.
As previously announced, the JNCIA-Junos certification will become a prerequisite for all upper-level Junos-based credentials.
The first two new certifications scheduled for release are:
- JNCIS-SP – The supporting exam JN0-360 became available at Prometric on August 6, 2010. Exam details.
- JNCIS-ENT – The supporting exam became available at Prometric in October 6, 2010. Exam details.
The following exams will be retired as we transition to the new tracks:
- JN0-202 M Series, Associate (JNCIA-M) - retiring December 31, 2010
- JN0-304 M Series Specialist (JNCIS-M) - retiring December 31, 2010
- JN0-342 ER, Associate (JNCIA-ER - retiring December 3, 2010
- JN0-350 ER, Specialist (JNCIS-ER) - retiring December 3, 2010
- JN0-400 EX, Associate (JNCIA-EX) - retiring December 3, 2010
Why Are These Changes Happening?
This new structure reflects career opportunities in the industry, aligning with industry usage of Juniper Networks' portfolio of products and solutions. In addition, the Service Provider and Enterprise Routing and Switching tracks are supported by a comprehensive curriculum. This curriculum, combined with experience and expertise, will help prepare you for certification.
How Does This Affect Me?
JNCIx-M/T, JNCIx-ER and JNCIx-ES certifications remain valid and eligible for certification benefits until their normal 2-year recertification period.
