QFX3000 QFabric 스위치는 상호연동되는 세 개의 독립된 장비들로 구성됩니다. 이 세가지는 기존 모듈형 스위치의 주요 구성요소인 라인 카드, 백플레인, 라우팅 엔진에 해당합니다. 이러한 요소들을 하나의 박스 안에 가둬 놓는 전통적인 모듈형 스위치와 달리, QFX3000은 확장성 높은 패브릭을 제공함으로써 데이터센터의 요구 증대에 따라 성능 저하 없이 용이한 확장이 가능합니다. 아울러 단일 스위치의 관리 단순성을 실현합니다.
QFX3000은 다음과 같은 세가지 요소로 구성됩니다.
- QFX3500 QFabric Node는 일반적으로 모듈형 섀시 안에 탑재되는 라인 카드를 고집적도의 고정 컨피규레이션 TOR 에지 장비로 바꾸어 패브릭 내부 및 외부로의 액세스를 제공합니다.
- QFX3008 QFabric Interconnect는 고속 전송 장비로서 QFabric 내부에서 백플레인의 역할을 수행하며, 모든 QFabric Node 에지 장비들을 풀-메시(full- mesh) 토폴로지 내에서 상호연결합니다.
- QFX3100 QFabric Director는 QFX3000의 라우팅 엔진(Routing Engine) 역할을 수행하며, 패브릭에 대한 전반적인 제어 및 관리를 제공합니다.
QFX3000의 이러한 구성요소들은 상호연동되어 하나의 로지컬한 스위치와 같이 효율적으로 작동합니다. 데이터센터 내 서버, 스토리지, 기존 네트워크 구성요소 및 기타 주요 시스템들에 대한 애니-투-애니 연결을 보장하며, 가상화된 클라우드-레디 모바일 컴퓨팅 환경을 위한 기반을 제공합니다.
QFX3000은 최대 6000개의 포트를 지원할 수 있습니다. 그리고 L2, L3, FCoE(Fibre Channel over Ethernet) 트래픽을 지원하는 논블로킹, 로스리스(lossless) 아키텍처 내에서 5 마이크로초 미만의 지연을 보장합니다.
