Juniper Networks Extends Leadership in Network Security Markets

Juniper Gains Market Share and Widens Leadership Position in High-End Firewall and SSL VPN as Published by Infonetics Research

SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 16, 2009 — Juniper Networks® (NYSE: JNPR) today announced that it has extended its number one leadership position in high-end network security and SSL VPN categories and achieved the number two leadership position in the global secure routing category per a recently published report from Infonetics Research report titled, "3Q2009 Network Security Appliances and Software Market."

According to the report, Juniper accomplished a market share gain of 9.2% over the previous year in high-end network security appliances market, and remains the clear leader with a 43.7% share of that market — the biggest share gain since Infonetics began tracking this category. Juniper also led the SSL VPN market at 31.7%, retaining the number one leadership position since the category's inception in 2001.
